CANIPUS GRIEVANCE

IF SOMETHING HERE IS WRONG

Tell a person, and get an answer with a date on it.

Canipus carries other people's claims about medical products. Some of those claims will be wrong, and a few will be wrong in ways that could hurt somebody. This page is how you say so, who reads it, and how long we are allowed to take.

24 hours TO ACKNOWLEDGE A real reply from a person, saying we have it and what happens next.
15 days TO RESOLVE What we did, or why we did not, in plain words.

What you can report

How to report it

  1. From the post itself. Every post in a signed in feed has REPORT under it. That route carries the post's identity with it, so we know exactly what you meant without you having to describe it.
  2. By email, to grievance@canipus.com. Include the link to the page, and one line about what is wrong. If it is about your own name, likeness or work, say so, because those are handled faster.

You do not need an account to report something by email, and you do not need to give a reason for wanting a reply.

What happens then

  1. It is acknowledged within 24 hours.
  2. It is read against the record, not against our opinion of the company. A claim is checked at the register that would have approved it.
  3. If it is wrong, the page comes down or the claim is corrected, and the company is told why.
  4. You are told what happened, within 15 days of reporting it, whichever way it went.
WHAT WE TAKE DOWN FASTEST

Anything claiming to prevent, treat or cure one of the conditions named in the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, and anything sexual in nature involving a real, identifiable person. Those two do not wait for a discussion.

What this page is not

NOT A MEDICAL HELPLINE

If you are having a medical emergency, this page cannot help you. Call your local emergency number or go to a hospital.

NOT AN ADVERSE EVENT REGISTER

If a device or a medicine harmed someone, tell the regulator as well as us. In India that is the Materiovigilance Programme for devices and the Pharmacovigilance Programme for medicines, both run through the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. We will pass on what you send us, but a report to us is not a report to them.

NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE COMPANY

If your question is about a product you bought, the company that sells it is still the one that has to answer you. Every listing carries its maker's name for that reason.

Why there is a clock on this at all

Because the law puts one there. An intermediary in India has to name a grievance officer, publish how to reach them, acknowledge a complaint within twenty four hours and dispose of it within fifteen days. We would rather write the dates down in public than have them be a thing you find out about by waiting.
